Summary:
This articles states that the fish population has been dropping since 1970. The cause of this is over-fishing and other threats, for example coastal development, pollution and climate change which causes a raise in temperatures and causes the water to be more acidic. Some fishes populations such as tuna, mackerel and bonito has fallen by nearly 75%. They are decreasing quickly and it is critical, the ocean is flexible bit it has its limits. They believe closing fishing grounds and stopping illegal fishing would help solve the problem.
Reflection:
I picked this article because the article's title was very intriguing. I learned that people have been over-fishing and pollution and things like that has been affecting the ocean horribly and a big change hasn't happen yet until now. I think fishing should be more restricted. As for trash I think we should restrict what people bring to the beaches as well as put more no-littering signs and police officers there to enforce it because our oceans are slowly dying because of pollution that we cause we think it might only affect us but it affects the animals and things we eat as well.
